Class Descriptions
Tap is an indigenous American art form with roots in Irish step dancing and African Juba. Rhythm tap technique is based on the styles of the first generation ‘hoofers’ of Vaudeville, jazz clubs and Broadway with the contemporary exploration of the concert stage. Tradition is taught with an emphasis on musicality, relaxation and individuality.
Repertory classes serve as an opportunity for students to learn and investigate choreography and the creative process in a safe, healthy environment, developing their own individual voices through improvisation, and performance skills. Classic and Contemporary choreography is offered in each session.
Enrichment Programs:
Restorative Flow Yoga will focus on gentle Hatha yoga poses and relaxation through conscious attention to breath. This style encourages and teaches you to slow down and listen to your body. It can help relieve stress, increase flexibility, and improve balance as well as allowing the body’s own natural healing capabilities to engage. Any Body can do restorative flow yoga. It’s appropriate for all ages, fitness levels, and physical ability.
